Vitrectomy Surgery In Udaipur

If you are experiencing vision problems and your optometrist has not been able to help, it may be time to consider vitrectomy surgery in Udaipur. Vitrectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that restores vision by removing the cloudy lens material from the inside of your eye. This procedure is typically performed as an outpatient procedure on an overnight stay in the hospital.

There are several factors that can lead to vision problems, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), genetic conditions such as Stargardt’s disease, and trauma such as a car accident or sports injury. If you are experiencing blurry vision or difficulty reading, speak with your doctor about whether vitrectomy surgery is right for you.

Types of Vitrectomy

There are three main types of vitrectomy: pars plana vitrectomy (PPV), transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy (TSV), and endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approach.

PPV is the most common type of vitrectomy performed. It involves inserting a blunt needle through the cornea and into the vitreous cavity. The needle is then turned, breaking up the gel in the vitreous cavity and allowing it to flow out of the eye. PPV is usually done when there is an obstruction in the visual pathway caused by either a tumor or an age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

TSV involves threading a thin wire around one of the eyes’ optic nerves before cutting it near its base. This breaks up any floaters in the eye’s retina and allows better access to the underlying macula for removal. TSV is often used when there is significant Floater disease, or when there is an intravitreal hemorrhage (blood inside the eye).

Endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approach involves entering the eye through one of its smaller pores (the iris) and removing debris from within the eye using small surgical instruments. This is often used when there is a large amount of debris in the eye and
