C3R Surgery In Bangalore

Corneal collagen crosslinking (CCL) is a form of laser surgery that uses riboflavin (vitamin B2) as an active agent. CCL is used to improve the appearance of the eyes by correcting the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the cornea.

There are a few risks associated with CCL, but they are generally minor and easily manageable. Some patients may experience mild discomfort following surgery, but this usually subsides within a few days. Some patients may experience temporary vision changes following surgery, but these usually resolve within a few weeks.

If you’re interested in having CCL done in Bangalore, our team at Mantracare is dedicated to providing you with comprehensive care. We’ll work with you to determine which type of CCL procedure is best for you, and we’ll provide you with all the information.

Procedure of C3R Eye Surgery

C3r surgery

Corneal collagen crosslinking is a common procedure used to treat various corneal disorders. It is a type of laser surgery that uses riboflavin (vitamin B2) as an active agent. Riboflavin is converted into a fluorescent light by the enzyme flavin mononucleotide reductase. This light is then used to create a crosslinking reaction between the corneal collagen fibers.

The procedure is done in two stages. In the first stage, riboflavin is injected into the eye using a local anesthetic. This will numb the area around the eye. After the anesthetic has worn off, the riboflavin injection needle is removed and a special laser called a CO2 laser is used to heat up the riboflavin. The heated riboflavin then starts to break down into its fluorescent elements, which are then used to create the crosslinking reaction between the corneal collagen fibers.

In the second stage, this crosslinking reaction needs to be maintained for a certain amount of time in order for the treatment to be effective. This stage is done using another type of laser called an excimer laser. The excimer laser uses shorter, more intense pulses of light than regular lasers and can more easily maintain the correct temperature and level of intensity during treatment.
