Vitrectomy Surgery In Bareilly

Bareilly is one of the most populous cities in Uttar Pradesh with a population of over 2.5 million. As a result of its population size and the prevalence of eye diseases, Bareilly has a high incidence of vitreoretinal diseases.

Vitrectomy is a surgical procedure that is used to remove damage or abnormalities in the vitreous humor (a clear gel that fills the eyeball). Vitreous surgery can be performed on either an outpatient basis or an inpatient basis. In outpatient vitreoretinal surgery, the patient typically spends one night in the hospital and then returns home. In inpatient vitreoretinal surgery, the patient spends more time in the hospital and may require some type of post-operative care such as medication to keep them comfortable.

Types of Vitrectomy

There are three main types of vitrectomy: pars plana vitrectomy (PPV), transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy (TSV), and endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approach.

PPV is the most common type of vitrectomy, and it is performed using a small camera inserted through the eyelid into the eye to view the inside of the eye.

TSV is a less common type of vitrectomy that uses a thin wire loop to hold back the iris while a surgeon cuts around the outside of the lens.

Epiretinal approach uses an endoscope to view the retina through the eye’s jellyfish layer. This is the least common type of vitrectomy, but it has been shown to be more effective than other types in some cases.
