Fellowship in Medical Retina
Job Summary:
This fellowship program offers in-depth clinical and academic training in the diagnosis and management of vitreoretinal disorders.
Program Details:
OPD & Procedures:
- The fellowship offers comprehensive training in the examination and clinical work-up of patients with retinal conditions.
- Fellows will gain hands-on experience with a broad range of diagnostic tools, including Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, OCT, Fundus Photography, FFA, OCT-A, and B-Scan.
- Regular OPD rotations provide the opportunity to manage cases independently under expert guidance.
- Trainees will also be exposed to cutting-edge imaging technologies and investigative procedures.
Program Structure:
First 3 Months – Induction Phase:
- Initial OPD exposure and supervised patient management.
- Detailed training in advanced imaging techniques such as OCT, OCT-Angiography, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography, ICGA, colored fundus photography with autofluorescence, USG-B scan, and Ultrasound Biomicroscopy.
- Case-based learning focused on conditions like Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Vascular Diseases, ARMD, Degenerative Peripheral Fundal Lesions, Retinal Detachment, and Vitreoretinal Interface Disorders.
- Exposure to treatment protocols for Uveitis.
- Diagnostic insights into Genetic Retinopathies and Maculopathies.
Next 3 Months – Advanced Training & Practical Experience:
- Ongoing training in advanced diagnostics and imaging methods.
- Hands-on practice in medical retina procedures, including Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, Panretinal Photocoagulation, Focal Argon Laser, and Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscope.
- Direct involvement in managing complex retinal cases with guidance on treatment strategies.
- Surgical experience with intravitreal injections and exposure to newer anti-VEGF therapies such as Aflibercept, Brolucizumab, Faricimab, and Dexamethasone implants.
