OPD & Procedures:

  • The fellowship offers comprehensive training in the examination and clinical work-up of patients with retinal conditions.
  • Fellows will gain hands-on experience with a broad range of diagnostic tools, including Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, OCT, Fundus Photography, FFA, OCT-A, and B-Scan.
  • Regular OPD rotations provide the opportunity to manage cases independently under expert guidance.
  • Trainees will also be exposed to cutting-edge imaging technologies and investigative procedures.

Program Structure:

First 3 Months – Induction Phase:

  • Initial OPD exposure and supervised patient management.
  • Detailed training in advanced imaging techniques such as OCT, OCT-Angiography, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography, ICGA, colored fundus photography with autofluorescence, USG-B scan, and Ultrasound Biomicroscopy.
  • Case-based learning focused on conditions like Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Vascular Diseases, ARMD, Degenerative Peripheral Fundal Lesions, Retinal Detachment, and Vitreoretinal Interface Disorders.
  • Exposure to treatment protocols for Uveitis.
  • Diagnostic insights into Genetic Retinopathies and Maculopathies.

Next 3 Months – Advanced Training & Practical Experience:

  • Ongoing training in advanced diagnostics and imaging methods.
  • Hands-on practice in medical retina procedures, including Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, Panretinal Photocoagulation, Focal Argon Laser, and Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscope.
  • Direct involvement in managing complex retinal cases with guidance on treatment strategies.
  • Surgical experience with intravitreal injections and exposure to newer anti-VEGF therapies such as Aflibercept, Brolucizumab, Faricimab, and Dexamethasone implants.
