Job Summary:
The Orbit & Oculoplasty Fellowship at Eye Mantra offers focused training in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of oculoplastic and orbital conditions. The program emphasizes both surgical and non-surgical approaches to eyelid abnormalities, orbital disorders, and reconstructive procedures. Fellows will gain hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of oculoplastic surgeries, equipping them with the expertise required for a successful career in this specialized field.
Program Details:
OPD & Procedures:
- The fellowship provides in-depth training in the evaluation and management of oculoplastic and orbital conditions.
- Fellows gain exposure to diagnostic procedures such as high-resolution CT and MRI for orbital imaging, ultrasonography, slit-lamp examination, biopsies, and eyelid assessments.
- Regular OPD rotations offer opportunities to manage cases independently under the guidance of experienced oculoplastic surgeons.
- Clinical experience includes a wide range of conditions, including eyelid malpositions, orbital tumors, trauma, and reconstructive procedures.
Program Structure:
First 3 Months – Induction Phase:
- Foundational training in oculoplastic surgery and orbital disease pathology.
- Hands-on experience in the clinical assessment and workup of eyelid and orbital disorders.
- Introduction to advanced imaging and diagnostic tools such as CT, MRI, and ultrasonography.
- Case-based learning focused on common conditions including ptosis, orbital cellulitis, and eyelid malpositions.
- Training in the anatomy and surgical principles relevant to eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital surgeries.
Next 3 Months – Advanced Clinical & Surgical Training:
- Surgical training in procedures such as blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, and entropion/ectropion repair.
- Exposure to orbital surgeries, including tumor excision, decompression, and fracture repair.
- Hands-on experience in managing lacrimal system disorders through procedures like dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) and related surgeries.
- Practical training in reconstructive techniques for eyelid trauma and post-tumor excision repair.
- Management of complex orbital conditions, including infections, inflammations, and structural anomalies.
- Post-operative care, patient education, and follow-up for optimal surgical outcomes.
