Vitrectomy Surgery In Hyderabad

If you are suffering from eye pain, blurry vision, or other serious issues with your vision, you may be a candidate for vitrectomy surgery. Vitrectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the vitreous gel that fills the interior of your eye. This gel can become inflamed or damaged, which can lead to vision problems.

Vitrectomy surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure. Your surgeon will first make an incision in your eye and remove the unhealthy vitreous gel. The surgery is usually successful in resolving most vision problems, and you should be able to resume normal activities within a few days.

If you are considering vitrectomy surgery in Hyderabad, be sure to speak with an expert at Mantracare to learn more about your options and how best to proceed.

Types of Vitrectomy

There are three main types of vitrectomy: pars plana vitrectomy (PPV), transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy (TSV), and endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approach.

PPV is the most commonly performed type of vitrectomy and involves removing the entire vitreous chamber through a small incision in the pars plana.

TSV is a less common technique that uses sutures to hold the retina in place while the vitreous is removed.

Endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approaches use an advanced optical device to directly access and remove the vitreous without opening the eye. These procedures are more invasive and require a longer recovery time, but they often result in better vision than PPV or TSV.
