Vitrectomy Surgery In Lucknow

There are many vitrectomy surgeries in Lucknow. Vitrectomy surgery is a type of surgery that helps to remove excess fluid and debris from the inside of your eye. This can be done as part of a treatment for a number of medical conditions, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and other conditions that cause eye problems.

The procedure typically involves cutting into the front surface of your eyeball (the cornea) using a special tool called a cut-off wheel. The surgeon then uses a telescope to remove the excess fluid and debris. Most people experience minimal or no discomfort after vitrectomy surgery.

If you are considering vitrectomy surgery for any reason, be sure to speak with your doctor about your specific situation.

Types of Vitrectomy

There are three main types of vitrectomy: pars plana vitrectomy (PPV), transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy (TSV), and endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approach.

PPV is the most common type of vitrectomy and is performed using a microscope to see into the eye. A small hole is then made in the cornea and the eyepiece is inserted into the eye. The surgeon then uses a laser to cut through the retina and membrane, allowing them to view the inner walls of the eye.

TSV is performed using a small incision in the lower part of the eyelid and a special tool that removes cells from inside of the eyeball. This technique is often used when there is severe damage to one or both eyes, or when surgery is required but there is a risk of causing further damage to the eyes.

The endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approach involves making an small opening in one’s own retina with a special tool, then inserting a camera through this opening to view inside of one’s own eye.
