Vitrectomy Surgery In Panipat

The most common vitrectomy surgery is the removal of a cataract. However, other types of vitrectomies may also be performed, such as in cases of retinal detachment or in patients with macular degeneration. Vitrectomy surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a laser to cut through the vitreous and remove the cloudy lens.

The advantages of this surgery include that it is relatively short and does not require general anesthesia or hospitalization. There are many potential risks associated with vitrectomy surgery, including infection, bleeding, and vision loss. In order to minimize these risks, the surgeon will typically perform a preoperative evaluation to rule out any potential complications.

If you are considering vitrectomy surgery in Panipat, our team at Mantracare is available to help you explore all your options and make the best decision for your particular case.

Types of Vitrectomy

Pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) is the most common type of vitrectomy. It is performed through a small incision in the lower eyelid and involves removing the vitreous body without suturing the surface. This method is usually used for simple, uncomplicated cases.

Transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy (TSV) is a newer technique that uses a thin, flexible wire to hold the edges of the retina together during the removal of the vitreous. This method is less likely to cause bleeding and may be better suited for cases that are more complicated or require the removal of large amounts of vitreous.

The endoscopic subretinal or epiretinal approach is a newer option that uses a small camera inserted through a tiny incision in the eye to view and remove the vitreous. This method may be preferable in cases where PPV or TSV would be difficult or impossible due to prior surgery or trauma to the eye.
