Squint Surgery

Squint surgery is also called strabismus surgery. It is done to correct a person’s vision by realigning the eyes. The surgery is performed by an ophthalmologist, a medical doctor who specializes in eye care and surgery.

A person with a squint may have had the condition since birth or may have developed it later in life. Squints can be mild, moderate, or severe. A mild squint may not need treatment, but a moderate or severe squint can cause problems with a person’s vision.

The goal of squint surgery is to improve the alignment of the eyes so that they point in the same direction when looking at an object. The surgery is done to correct the underlying muscle imbalance that is causing the squint.
