Fellowship in Phaco & Refractive
Job Summary:
The course is designed to strengthen the clinical and surgical competencies of practicing ophthalmologists or fellow surgeons through a structured, month-wise training schedule that ensures high-volume exposure.
At Eye Mantra, patient care remains our highest priority. Visiting fellows receive continuous guidance and supervision from experienced consultants to ensure their learning objectives are met and their skills are thoroughly developed.
Throughout the fellowship, fellows will gain exposure to a variety of phacoemulsification machines, different types of foldable intraocular lenses (IOLs), live surgical procedures, and essential pre- and post-operative care protocols.
Program Details:
- The program begins with an advanced induction module, followed by OPD-based training focused on independent case handling, clinical assessment, and patient management.
- Fellows will receive in-depth training in pre-operative evaluation and preparation, with significant exposure to advanced imaging technologies such as PENTACAM, AS-OCT, ABERROMETRY, ocular surface analysis, meibography (OSA), and intraoperative OCT.
- The fellowship includes dedicated training in pre-operative counseling and care for patients undergoing cataract, kerato-refractive, and lens-based refractive procedures.
- Hands-on surgical experience will cover Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS), Phacoemulsification, and the implantation of premium intraocular lenses, including toric, extended depth of focus (EDOF), and multifocal IOLs.
